National Security Council OKs Orlic's appointment as BIA chief
BELGRADE - At a session chaired by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the National Security Council on Wednesday approved the appointment of Vladimir Orlic as new Security Information Agency (BIA) director.
The decision was made in line with the Law on the Foundations of Regulation of the Security Services of the Republic of Serbia.
The session addressed the current security situation in the region and the situation in the Republic of Serbia, in particular, the presidential press office said in a statement.
Orlic, a one-time parliament speaker, will take over from BIA Acting Director Tomislav Radovanovic, who was appointed in December 2023 following the resignation of the agency's previous director, Aleksandar Vulin.
