Thirteen people indicted for Novi Sad railway station accident

NOVI SAD - The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad announced on Monday it had indicted 13 people accused in the railway station roof collapse case.

Fifteen people were killed and two others were seriously injured in the November 1 accident in the city.

The indictment was raised following the completion of the investigative stage of criminal proceedings.

Former Serbian Railway Infrastructure acting director general J T, former minister of construction, transport and infrastructure G V, former acting assistant minister A D and former Serbian Railway Infrastructure director general N S were indicted on suspicion of committing a serious crime against general safety under Article 288, Paragraph 2 of the Penal Code, in conjunction with the criminal act of causing general danger under Article 278, Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 2 of the Penal Code.

Nine more people, identified with the initials S N, M J, LJ M M, M S, J S M, Z S M, D J, M G and D T were also indicted on suspicion of committing a serious crime against general safety under Article 288, Paragraph 2 of the Penal Code in conjunction with the crime of illegal and improper execution of construction works under Article 281, Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code.
