Serbian police arrest driver for knocking down girl in New Belgrade

BELGRADE - Serbian police on Friday tracked down and arrested a 26-year-old female driver identified with the initials M S who, driving a Citroen car, knocked down a 25-year-old girl in a hit-and-run incident in New Belgrade earlier in the day.

The girl, who sustained injuries, is hospitalised at the emergency centre, the police said in a statement.

The incident occurred during a protest walk on Yuri Gagarin Street in New Belgrade.
