Serbian Patriarch Porfirije arrives in Patriarchate of Pec

PEC - Serbian Patriarch Porfirije arrived in the Patriarchate of Pec on Friday afternoon ahead of Easter festivities with Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and the clergy and monks of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The patriarch was welcomed by Metropolitan Teodosije of Raska and Prizren, abbess Haritina and nuns, members of the clergy and the faithful.

After a prayer, the patriarch bowed to the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God of Pec and the holy remains of his predecessors, Serbian archbishops and patriarchs, the Serbian Orthodox Church said in a statement.

The patriarch is due to serve a holy liturgy at the Visoki Decani monastery on Saturday and lead an Easter Day liturgy at the Patriarchate on Sunday.
