Prosecutors indict perpetrator of Mladenovac massacre
SMEDEREVO - The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Smederevo on Wednesday raised an indictment against Uros B, charged with killing nine people, wounding 12 others and attempting to kill 20 other people in a May 4 shooting spree in the Dubona and Malo Orasje villages in the Mladenovac municipality.
His father Radisa B, his uncle Goran B and cousin Boris G, a resident of Kragujevac, are on the same indictment, the Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
Uros B is indicted for the criminal offence of aggravated murder in conjunction with the crimes of illicit manufacture, possession, carrying and distribution of arms and explosive matters and kidnapping and unauthorised use of another person's vehicle.
His father is charged with illicit manufacture, possession, carrying and distribution of arms and explosive matters and a serious crime against general safety.
Goran G and Boris G are charged with illicit manufacture, possession, carrying and distribution of arms and explosive matters.
An upholding of the indictment by the Higher Court in Smederevo is pending and the Prosecutor's Office also requested that the suspects' detention be extended.
Since Uros B was under 21 years of age at the time he committed the massacre, he cannot be sentenced to life imprisonment but faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, which is the sentence proposed in the indictment.
The Prosecutor's Office proposed 20 years of imprisonment for his father and six years in prison for both Goran G and Boris G.
