Vojvodina knocked out by Ajax in UEFA Europa League qualifiers
BACKA TOPOLA - Serbian football club Vojvodina Novi Sad lost 3-1 to Ajax Amsterdam in the second leg of the two teams' UEFA Europa League qualifying tie in Backa Topola, northern Serbia, on Thursday evening.
Josip Sutalo (53 min), Jorrel Hato (85 min) and Bertrand Traore (90+2 min) provided the goal for Ajax, while Lazar Nikolic netted for Vojvodina in the 59th minute.
After winning the first leg 1-0, Ajax won 4-1 on aggregate, and will take on Panathinaikos Athens in the Europa League third qualifying round.
Vojvodina will now go to the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round, where they will face Slovenian outfit Maribor.
