Stojkovic announces preliminary squad list for games vs Switzerland, Spain

BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national football team Dragan Stojkovic on Tuesday announced the preliminary squad list for the upcoming Nations League games against Switzerland and Spain.

Vanja Milinkovic Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic are back in the fold after missing the matches against Spain and Denmark, while young Red Star Belgrade prospect Andrija Maksimovic has earned his first cap.

On the other hand, the names of Sergej Milinkovic Savic and Dusan Vlahovic, who also skipped the first two games of this season's Nations League, are not in the squad list.

In Nations League Group A4, Serbia will host Switzerland in Leskovac on October 12 and play Spain in Cordoba on October 15.

Stojkovic will announce the final squad list on October 4.

The preliminary squad list is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Predrag Rajkovic (Al-Ittihad), Vanja Milinkovic Savic (Torino), Aleksandar Jovanovic (Partizan) and Marko Ilic (Red Star).

Defenders: Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest), Strahinja Pavlovic (Milan), Srdjan Babic (Spartak Moscow), Jan Carlo Simic (Anderlecht), Kosta Nedeljkovic (Aston Villa) and Strahinja Erakovic (Zenit St Petersburg).

Midfielders: Sasa Lukic (Fulham), Ivan Ilic (Torino), Nemanja Maksimovic (Panathinaikos), Sasa Zdjelar (CSKA Moscow), Lazar Samardzic (Atalanta), Andrija Zivkovic (PAOK), Veljko Birmancevic (Sparta Prague), Nikola Cumic (Rubin Kazan), Dejan Zukic (Wolfsberger), Aleksandar Cirkovic (TSC), Stefan Mitrovic (Leuven) and Andrija Maksimovic (Red Star).

Forwards: Aleksandar Mitrovic (Al Hilal), Luka Jovic (Milan), Dejan Joveljic (LA Galaxy), Petar Ratkov (RB Salzburg) and Mihailo Ivanovic (Milwall).
