Partizan defeat Real Madrid in EuroLeague game marred by brawl
MADRID - Partizan Belgrade defeated Real Madrid 95-80 away from home in the second game of the two teams' EuroLeague Basketball quarter-final series on Thursday evening.
The game was suspended with 100 seconds to go after an on-court brawl and the victory was handed to Partizan, who now lead the series 2-0 and are just one win away from qualifying for the May 19-21 EuroLeague Final Four tournament in Kaunas.
Dante Exum - who is in doubt for the remainder of the series after an injury sustained in a savage lunge by Real Madrid's Guerschon Yabusele - led the scoring for Partizan with 19 points and was followed by James Nanelli (16 pts), Zach LeDay (15 pts), Kevin Punter (14 pts) and Mathias Lessort (10 pts).
Rudy Fernandez and Mario Hezonja stood out for Real Madrid with 16 points each and Vincent Poirier and Dzanan Musa added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The third game of the series will be played in Belgrade on Tuesday.
