Djokovic beats Etcheverry to advance to Paris Masters third round
PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is through to the Paris Masters third round after a 6-3, 6-2 win over world number 31 Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina on Wednesday evening.
Djokovic, who won after an hour and 25 minutes of play, is now 2-0 head-to-head against Etcheverry.
The Serbian will on Thursday face Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, who is 23rd in the ATP rankings.
Djokovic has a 2-0 head-to-head record against Griekspoor.
Earlier in the day, Serbian Dusan Lajovic lost to Australian Alex De Minaur 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the second round.
The prize money at the Paris Masters is 5,779,335 euros.
