Red Star Belgrade lose to RB Leipzig at home in UEFA Champions League

BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade lost 2-1 to German side RB Leipzig at home in a UEFA Champions League Group G Matchday 4 game on Tuesday evening.

In front of more than 40,000 spectators at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, Xavi Simons put the visitors in the lead in the 8th minute, Lois Openda made it 2-0 in the 77th minute and Benjamin Henrichs scored an own-goal for Red Star in the 81st minute.

In the other Group G match, Manchester City defeated Young Boys 3-0.

Manchester City are on top of the group table with 12 points and are followed by RB Leipzig with nine and Red Star and Young Boys with one point each.

Manchester City and RB Leipzig are already through to the knock-out stage, while Red Star and Young Boys will fight it out for the third place and a berth in the UEFA Europa League.

On November 28, Manchester City play RB Leipzig at home and Young Boys host Red Star.
