Djokovic beats Fritz to reach Australian Open semis

MELBOURNE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is through to the Australian Open semi-finals after a 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over American Taylor Fritz in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Djokovic, who won after three hours and 45 minutes of play, is now 9-0 head-to-head against Fritz.

The Serbian will next face the winner of the tie between Russian Andrey Rublev and Italian Jannik Sinner.

Reigning champion Djokovic, who defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in last season's final, will make an attempt to win his 11th title in Melbourne and his 25th career Grand Slam trophy.
