Serbia boss Stojkovic agrees contract extension with FSS
STARA PAZOVA - The head coach of the Serbia men's national football team Dragan Stojkovic said on Monday he had agreed a contract extension with the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) and would soon put pen to paper on a deal that would see him remain in his current post until July 2026.
"Last week, we had discussions and talks, and we made a deal. I want continuity of work, everything else is a sheer formality. Serbia has always been the number one priority. I am glad we have found common ground to continue to fight to achieve good results such as the ones we have had in the past period. The Serbia national team has always been my number one option as far as my future as a coach is concerned," Stojkovic told a press conference at Stara Pazova after his team got together ahead of friendlies against Russia and Cyprus.
Stojkovic, 59, took over as Serbia boss in 2021 and the national team has since qualified for World Cup 2022 and EURO 2024.
Serbia will play friendlies against Russia in Moscow on March 21 and Cyprus in Larnaca on March 25.
