Mandaric: Vojvodina must be on top of league table, do well in Europe
NOVI SAD - Serbian-American businessman Milan Mandaric was named vice president of Serbian football club Vojvodina Novi Sad on Tuesday.
"I am happy I have met President Dragoljub Zbiljic and other people around him. We had great discussions and saying 'yes' was not difficult even though my return to Novi Sad and Vojvodina has been talked about many times in the past," Mandaric said after the club assembly unanimously decided to appoint him vice president and a member of the board of directors.
"It is a great honour to be here and I will do everything in my power to help, with my experience and strength, Vojvodina to get back where it should be - to fight for the top position in the league table and produce good displays in Europe, and be a real European club," the Mozzartsport sports news portal quoted Mandaric as saying.
He added that he would insist on developing the Vojvodina youth system.
