Djokovic through to Wimbledon semis after De Minaur withdraws due to injury
LONDON - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Wimbledon semi-finals after Australian Alex De Minaur withdrew from the tournament due to a hip injury, the organisers announced on Wednesday.
Djokovic was due to face De Minaur in the quarter-finals later in the day.
De Minaur sustained the injury two days ago in the closing stages of his fourth-round match against Frenchman Arthur Fils, which he won 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
In the semi-finals, Djokovic will play the winner of the tie between Italian Lorenzo Musetti and American Taylor Fritz.
Russian Daniil Medvedev will take on Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the other semi-final encounter.
