NIS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in Nis a new Ariston factory in the city would export 240 mln euros worth of products in 2025.
Speaking at a cornerstone-laying ceremony for the plant in the city's Industrial Zone North, Vucic said an agreement to build the factory had been reached during his discussions with Ariston executives at last year's Davos Economic Forum and that it would hire 300 people.
"We met in Davos in January 2023 and had a discussion. They had a small, 2.5 mln euro plant in Svilajnac, and we reached an agreement for them to come here," Vucic said.
He said the Nis plant would manufacture heat pumps and expand its product range.
"Ariston is a special name, it has annual revenues of 3 bln euros and around 10,700 employees and its products are being sold in a market of 150 countries. It is a great Italian company," Vucic noted.
