BELGRADE - Air Serbia will commence direct flights between Belgrade and Cairo on May 15.
The Serbian national airline will be operating flights to the capital of Egypt three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while flights from Cairo to the Serbian capital will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Air Serbia announced in a statement.
The flights on this route will be carried out using Airbus A319 aircraft, it said.
"The culture and history of Egypt garner a lot of attention from tourists across the globe, and the specific climate makes the country of pharaohs attractive throughout the entire year. By listening to the needs of passengers in Serbia, as well as the broader Balkan region, we have decided to introduce scheduled direct flights between Belgrade and Cairo. Our company has been operating flights to the capital of Egypt since the summer of 2019, and we are glad that we now have the opportunity to reconnect two friendly countries," said Air Serbia General Manager Commercial and Strategy Bosko Rupic.
"With the introduction of direct flights between Belgrade and Cairo, passengers flying from that city via Belgrade have access to good flight connections to Amsterdam, Berlin, Bari, Paris, Dusseldorf, Rome, London, Ljubljana, Madrid, Milan, Prague, Tivat, Vienna, Zurich, Zagreb and other destinations in the Air Serbia network," the statement also said.
