LISBON - Serbia's Tanjug News Agency signed on Wednesday in Lisbon a contract on inter-agency cooperation with Portugal's Lusa News Agency, the world's largest Portuguese-language news agency and a member of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA).

The contract on exchanging news reports and photo and video services was signed by Tanjug Editor-in-Chief Jovana Joksimovic and Lusa CEO Joaquim Carreira.

Joksimovic said the cooperation with Lusa was important and confirmed Tanjug's significance and quality on the international media scene, expanding its network of collaborators in Europe and worldwide.

"This will make it possible for news from Serbia to reach all subscribers of that agency as well as for the most current and the most important news from Portugal to be transmitted to our media market through Tanjug's services," Joksimovic noted.

Besides an exchange of news, photo and video services, the cooperation will include experience- and knowledge-sharing among reporters, editors, photographers and camera operators, which includes exchanges of visits to familiarise Tanjug and Lusa employees with the way the two agencies were operating.

Lusa, the largest news agency in Portugal and the world's largest Portuguese-language news agency, has more than 280 journalists.
