BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at the opening of the 3rd Wine Vision by Open Balkan international wine, food and tourism fair in Belgrade on Friday the trade show had become the third most significant wine fair in Europe, and noted that this was a major joint success.
"This idea emerged as a conclusion by Belgrade, Skopje and Tirana," Vucic said.
"My estimate is - and you know I know a few things about this - that this is no longer the fourth, but the third most significant wine fair in all of Europe. Only Vinitaly and Dusseldorf are ahead of us, and Dusseldorf is on a decline, so we can try to even fight for the second place in terms of quality, the number of exhibitors and the number of visitors - in all parameters - in two or three years' time," Vucic said, noting that this year's fair featured exhibitors from 38 countries.
"They came all the way from the US, Australia, as well as from South Africa, Lebanon, Mexico, from France, of course, the Netherlands, the UK, Tunisia, Uganda. And we have an enormous number of exhibitors from Italy, an enormous number of those who came from PR China," Vucic said.
More than 650 exhibitors from 38 countries - wineries, distilleries and gastronomic companies - will be showcased at the fair until November 24.
