NIS - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Wednesday her government was in talks with eight foreign investors and that new production plants and factories would be opened in Nis this year.
Speaking to reporters in Nis, Brnabic said 16,000 jobs had been created in the city and the Nisava District over the past ten years.
"New plants and factories will be opened in 2023 and I expect us to continue growth regardless of the crisis facing entire Europe and the world," she said after a visit to a science and technology park in Nis.
Brnabic said the government would continue to invest in science and technology parks as they represented a special potential that depended solely on Serbia, its schools, universities and local know-how.
She said the parks provided a return on investment in an average of under three years and were the best possible investment for the government.
"When you see that more than 500 of the smartest, most talented and the most creative people work in this building every day and create added value, then it is something we just need to invest in as a government and watch that added value being created in Nis," she said.
