Serbia sees 25.4 bln dinar budget surplus in first ten months of 2022

BELGRADE - Serbia registered a 25.4 bln dinar budget surplus in the first ten months of 2022, the Ministry of Finance has said.

Revenues totalled 1,381.6 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 1,356.2 bln dinars.

In October alone, a 15.6 bln dinar budget surplus was registered, and revenues totalled 136.5 bln dinars, including 120.8 bln dinars of tax revenues.

VAT, excise duties and corporate income tax made up most of the tax revenues, totalling 67.2 bln dinars, 26.7 bln dinars and 11.6 bln dinars, respectively, while non-tax revenues amounted to 14.6 bln dinars and donations stood at 1.2 bln dinars.

October expenditures totalled 120.9 bln dinars.

Expenditures for employees totalled 29.3 bln dinars, while transfers to the pension and disability insurance fund, the national health insurance fund, the military social insurance fund and the national employment service totalled 13.3 bln dinars, with capital expenditures and social protection benefits at 26.4 bln and 11.7 bln dinars, respectively.

At general government level, a 65.4 bln dinar fiscal surplus and a 165.5 bln dinar primary fiscal surplus were registered in the period from January to October, the ministry also said.
