BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Liqun and Vice President Konstantin Limitovskiy on Wednesday to discuss projects for future cooperation ranging from digitalisation and science to energy, infrastructure and environmental protection.
According to an official statement released after the meeting, Brnabic noted that biotech, including the construction of a BIO4 campus designed to connect areas important for Serbia's development, was the primary area where she saw the future.
She pointed out that Serbia had projects that were ready for implementation in cooperation with the AIIB, and added that, above all, she saw the multilateral development institution as a partner for carrying out future projects.
She said Serbia had achieved great success in digitalisation and development of artificial intelligence and that the two areas could ensure economic growth to the country.
She said her government had made a strategic commitment to invest in infrastructure, green energy and the IT industry.
Jin said Serbia was safe for investments and cooperation and that international investors in the country confirmed the stability of its business environment.
He noted that AIIB was interested in projects that were traditional for its operations, such as infrastructure and railway projects, but that digitalisation, AI and biotech also offered space for cooperation.
