Momirovic: Serbia, Egypt must boost bilateral trade

CAIRO - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Wednesday he had met with Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Samir Saleh in Cairo and that they had concluded the two countries must boost the level of bilateral trade.

"The best way to do that is to accelerate the work on a FTA between Serbia and Egypt. I think we can finish the job by the end of the year and sign a FTA in the presence of our presidents, and turn a new page in the cooperation between our two countries," said Momirovic, who is on an official visit to Egypt.

He added that Serbia and Egypt maintained deep-rooted political ties.

"We have been through difficult times together in the past and it is time for those political ties to translate to growth of trade between Serbia and Egypt," Momirovic noted.
