BELGRADE - In December 2022, Air Serbia carried over 234,000 passengers, which is a 127 pct increase y-o-y, and 20 pct more compared to the record-breaking December of 2019.
In a statement, the national airline said it had carried over 200,000 passengers in December for the first time since it had started operating under the name of Air Serbia.
"Good results that we achieved during the summer season have continued. During each of the six months from July to December 2022, we broke our record in the number of passengers carried, and we are very proud of that. In December 2022, 131,000 more passengers flew with Air Serbia than in the same month in 2021, and 39,000 more compared to 2019. We will share accurate information about the total number of passengers carried in 2022 in the coming weeks, but preliminary results say that Air Serbia carried approximately 2.75 million passengers in 2022, which is only 2 pct less compared to 2019,” said Air Serbia General Manager Commercial and Strategy Bosko Rupic.
"In December 2022, the Serbian national airline operated 2,761 flights, of which 96 pct were via Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. This is an increase of 1,100 flights (+71 pct) compared to the same month in 2021," the statement also said.
