BELGRADE - Amendments to an agreement to build a wind park in Kostolac, eastern Serbia, were signed in the Serbian government on Monday.
The amended agreement between Serbia, the German development bank KfW and the Serbian national power company EPS was inked by Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic on behalf of Serbia and EPS Acting Director Dusan Zivkovic on behalf of the EPS.
Djedovic Handanovic said the Kostolac wind park was the first pilot project in the wind power sector for the EPS.
"The Kostolac wind park project is worth 144 mln euros and the capacity will be 66 MW. The output of the power plant and its 20 wind turbines will be sufficient to supply electricity to around 30,000 households," the minister said.
She noted that the project would be funded by a KfW loan and the EU Western Balkans Investment Framework and that a part of the financing would be provided by the EPS itself.
