BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with an IMF mission on Monday to discuss capital investments and financing for projects as part of investment plans related to the Leap Into The Future - Serbia 2027 growth programme.
The meeting with IMF representatives, led by mission head Donal McGettigan, also addressed strengthening the energy sector, and Vucic said he expected it to become a key generator of Serbia's accelerated progress in the years to come.
That would ensure energy security and lay the groundwork for strong development of strategic infrastructure in Serbia, Vucic said.
According to a statement released by the Presidency of Serbia, the IMF representatives said Serbia's economic growth was continuing and inflation declining and that FX reserves were record-high, reflecting strong macroeconomic indicators and resilience of the Serbian economy.
They also said presence of strong, diverse and resilient FDI was high as a result of Serbia's macroeconomic policy, macroeconomic stability and exceptional geographic position.
