PRAGUE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric, who is on an official trip to Czechia, visited the Serbian memorial ossuary and military cemetery at Jindrichovice, the site of the largest Austro-Hungarian concentration camp in WWI.
Djuric noted that he was honoured to have become the first Serbian minister in years to visit that "place of suffering" and noted that the Serbian soldiers buried at Jindrichovice outnumbered their compatriots resting in the Zeitenlik ossuary in Thessaloniki, Greece.
"In this memorial ossuary, in 7,100 wooden caskets rest the remains of 7,100 Serbian heroes and martyrs who died in the Jindrichovice camp and Austro-Hungarian camps in the territory of today's Czechia," a statement released by the Serbian MFA quoted Djuric as saying.
He noted that anyone who wanted who call themselves a Serb should come to Jandrichovice on a pilgrimage to become aware of the greatness of the sacrifice of brave Serbian young men from Valjevo, Sumadija and entire Serbia for the existence of the Fatherland.
