BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met with the head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Jan Braathu on Monday to discuss further cooperation and joint projects aimed at boosting the capacities of the Serbian Interior Ministry and rule of law in the country.
Dacic thanked the OSCE for its continuous support for bolstering the capacities of the Serbian police, which especially focuses on strengthening the police force in the fight against organised crime and corruption, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The parties highlighted the good cooperation to date in training for police officers and advancement of their capacities.
The minister noted the Interior Ministry's commitment to protect the rights and freedoms of all members of national minorities in its ranks, adding that increasing the presence of national minorities at the ministry remained an objective.
Braathu commended the ministry's efforts towards implementation of reforms and noted the importance of continuing the cooperation through joint projects in the field of prevention of, and the fight against, organised crime, corruption and human trafficking.
