BRUSSELS - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic met with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak in Brussels on Tuesday as part of a new round of the dialogue.
Petkovic is Belgrade's chief negotiator in the dialogue.
Lajcak is also due to meet with a Pristina delegation headed by chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi, but it remains unknown whether a trilateral meeting will also be held.
European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano said on Monday the meetings would address the way forward in the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement and other issues affecting the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
According to information obtained by Tanjug earlier, topics proposed by Belgrade included a bridge on the Ibar River in Kosovska Mitrovica and the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities.
The new round of dialogue comes after Lajcak's recent trips to Belgrade and Pristina to prepare a meeting of the chief negotiators, who last met in early July.
Meanwhile, Pristina has taken a series of unilateral moves that have further worsened the position of Serbs in the Kosovo-Metohija province, including a blockade of Serbian institutions in the north of the province and an announcement that the Kosovska Mitrovica bridge would be opened to traffic.
