WARSAW - A Serbian delegation attending the 106th Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly met with NATO PA Vice President Marcos Perestrello de Vasconcellos of Portugal and the head of the Portuguese delegation to the NATO PA Hugo Oliviera in Warsaw on Tuesday, pointing out the violence and terror Pristina was wreaking on Kosovo-Metohija Serbs on a nearly daily basis to expel them and carry out a policy of ethnic cleansing.

The parties also reviewed opportunities for advancing interparliamentary cooperation and exchanging visits in the period to come, in particular at the level of parliamentary friendship groups, the National Assembly of Serbia said in a statement.

At a meeting with the head of the Italian delegation, Lorenzo Cesa, and members of the delegations of the Italian Senate and House of Representatives, the Serbian representatives expressed gratitude for the years of engagement by Italian KFOR troops in Kosovo-Metohija, which make up the largest national contingent in the force, especially when it comes to protection of Serbian historical and cultural heritage in the province.

The Serbian delegation noted that KFOR was the only legal and legitimate armed force in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija and authorised to establish and maintain a secure environment for all citizens in Kosovo-Metohija.

At a meeting with the head of the Greek delegation to the NATO PA, Dimitrios Kairidis, the Serbian delegation informed him of the latest developments in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija and pointed out the significance of Greece's support for the preservation of the sovereignty of the territorial integrity of Serbia, especially since Greece is one of the non-recognisers of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo and very well informed on the situation in the province as it is also contributing troops to KFOR.

The members of the Serbian delegation also had a series of other bilateral contacts with delegations of NATO PA member states and associate members to inform them of the need for the international community to take concrete measures to stop further repression and torture by Pristina's PM Albin Kurti, whose every move is leading to an outbreak of conflicts in the north of the province and a fresh escalation on the ground, with potential unforeseeable consequences for the entire region, the statement also said.
