NEW YORK - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said he had met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York on Wednesday to discuss in detail the latest events in the dialogue and implementation of the Ohrid Agreement.
"This morning I spoke to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the sidelines of UNGA. We discussed in detail the latest events in the Dialogue and the need for re-commitment and implementation of Ohrid also in light of the EU Growth Plan for the region," Lajcak posted on X on Wednesday.
Previously, Vucic told reporters he had reiterated at the meeting with Lajcak that everything that had been signed and accepted under the Brussels Agreement had been destroyed.
In an Instagram post, Vucic wrote that the meeting had addressed not only the situation on the ground in Kosovo-Metohija, "which he (Lajcak) is very familiar with, but also what the EU and the international community are not doing, but are obliged to do, as well as what Serbia intends to do, within its capabilities, to protect its people and their right to life and freedom."
