BELGRADE - The head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret said on Wednesday the Delegation was deeply concerned over threats to Tanjug journalists.
"On behalf of EU Ambassador to Serbia, H E Emanuele Giaufret, and the EU Delegation to Serbia, we are deeply concerned to learn about the threats directed to Tanjug journalists.
The EU strongly condemns the attack and we call upon competent authorities to swiftly carry out an investigation to address, process the case and bring perpetrators to justice in this particular case as well as any other case of attacks against journalists.
It is crucial that journalists are able to do their job free of any threat of violence, harassment and intimidation. We wish you and your colleagues safe and peaceful work," the EU Delegation said in a press release sent to Tanjug.
On Monday evening, the Tanjug News Agency received an email signed by an individual named "Trim Bardhi" that said Tanjug journalists would get "a bullet to the back of their heads" the next time they set foot in the territory of Serbia's Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.
