BELGRADE - The threats emailed to the Tanjug News Agency earlier this week were sent from the territory of Serbia's Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, the Serbian Prosecutor's Office for High-Technology Crime has told Tanjug.
"On the same day the information about the incident was received, a request was sent to the Serbian Interior Ministry's Department for Fighting High-Technology Crime to gather the required information, and it was established that the IP address of the perpetrator belongs in the range used by Internet service providers in Kosovo-Metohija," the Prosecutor's Office said on Thursday evening.
In addition, a mutual legal assistance procedure was launched through the Justice Ministry with a request to EULEX to identify the Internet service user who is the potential perpetrator of the criminal offence, it said.
On Monday evening, Tanjug received an email signed by an individual named "Trim Bardhi" that said Tanjug journalists would get "a bullet to the back of their heads" the next time they set foot in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.
