BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Family Welfare and Demography Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski on Thursday condemned threats emailed to the Tanjug News Agency earlier this week.
"I want to join the condemnations of what your television has gone through in the past few days, and condemn in the strongest terms the threats directed at journalists who are just doing their job conscientiously," Djurdjevic Stamenkovski said in a statement to the agency, thanking Tanjug TV for becoming one of the first broadcasters to air a video promoting an increase of the parental benefit.
On Monday evening, Tanjug received an email signed by an individual named "Trim Bardhi" that said Tanjug journalists would get "a bullet to the back of their heads" the next time they set foot in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.
