ZAGREB - The Serbian embassy in Zagreb on Friday strongly condemned hate speech against the Republic of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic on a talk show aired on Croatian state radio.
In a statement, the embassy expressed the expectation that hate speech targeting Serbia and the Serbs, as well as calls to kill the Serbian president, such as those heard on the HRT talk show, would be met with clear condemnation by Croatian state authorities and media.
"We believe that incidents like these must not be a part of the political mainstream in Croatia and that those who resort to messages like these in public discourse will be met with clear steps to avert such behaviour," it noted.
On the talk show, Croatian military analyst Mario Galic said Croatia would not get cruise and long-range missiles from the US as they would enable it to hit a presidential plane over Belgrade.
In response, MP Kreso Beljak said "and the Serbian world is gone," to which Galic added: "Problem solved."
