BUDAPEST - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening the friendship between Hungary and Serbia was more than an ordinary friendship and that it had been forged in difficult times, which made it much stronger.
"Our friendship that was sculpted in the past decade is much more than an ordinary friendship. That friendship was forged in difficult times, complicated times for entire Europe, which makes its strength, firmness and importance all the greater," Vucic said at a dinner hosted by Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok and PM Viktor Orban in Budapest.
Vucic also said US President-elect Donald Trump's election win was a "ray of hope in a world where there was almost no hope."
"Whether that ray of hope will bring a better future to us or not, it remains to be seen. Without any cynicism or irony, I am concerned over the future of Europe and the future of all of us but, together, we will overcome all obstacles on our path much more easily," Vucic said.
