BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said "deeply troubling scenes" had unfolded in the Pristina provisional institutions' assembly on Thursday as Srpska lista representatives were denied entry to a session.

Djuric called on the international community to react and "ensure the protection of democratic processes and minority rights."

"Shocking and deeply troubling scenes unfolded today in Kosovo’s* Parliament, where MPs from Albin Kurti's party, supported by the Speaker of the Parliament, resorted to insults and direct expulsion of all Serbian representatives. This calculated move aims to block their participation in the session and forcefully strip them of their mandates.

Such actions undermine the principles of democratic governance and the rule of law, raising serious concerns about the treatment of the Serb people and other non-Albanian groups in Kosovo*," Djuric wrote in a post on X.

"Moreover, this incident sends a very troubling message in the lead-up to the February 9 elections, casting doubt on the commitment to fair and inclusive political processes.

We urge the international community to address these developments promptly and ensure the protection of democratic processes and minority rights. Constructive dialogue and mutual respect remain essential for building a stable and inclusive society in Kosovo*," Djuric added in the post, which also included video footage from Pristina's assembly.

Srpska lista is a political organisation of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs.

Its assembly members were denied entry to the session as Self-Determination representatives even used physical force to prevent them from attending.

After the Srpska lista representatives turned up for the session, speaker Glauk Konjufca stopped proceedings and ordered them to leave.
