BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday reiterated his condolences to Montenegro over a tragedy in which 12 people have been killed and four others seriously wounded in a shooting spree at Cetinje, and offered all kinds of assistance on behalf of Serbia.
"Firstly, and above all, I want to extend my condolences again to the people and citizens of Montenegro. By the way, I have spoken by phone with President (Jakov) Milatovic and PM (Milojko) Spajic," Vucic said in an appearance on Pink TV.
He noted that he did not want to take the "hypocritical political attitude" of some politicians in Serbia as an opportunity to speak about Montenegro, and added that he hoped Montenegro would be able to "find a way out and certain solutions."
Vucic said this in response to a question how the tragedy in Montenegro has not been used to stage protests in the country, whereas the opposition in Serbia has used every tragedy that has befallen the nation to start protests.
"We have offered all kinds of assistance. That was all we were able to do," he said.
