KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Srpska lista leader Zlatan Elek said on Friday Pristina's PM Albin Kurti had again tried to stop Srpska lista from running in the February 9 elections in Kosovo-Metohija as he saw it as his biggest political opponent.

Commenting on an appeal by Kurti's Self-Determination Movement in which it requested an annulment of a decision to certify Srpska lista for the elections, Elek said Srpska lista was a bulwark of the survival of Serbs in the province and that Kurti saw it as the biggest threat.

"That is why he is stopping us, and will do everything to stop us, from running in the upcoming parliamentary elections," Elek told the RTS.

He said Srpska lista's goal was to win all ten available seats in the assembly to stop Kurti's "own Serbs" from getting in, as well as to prevent the so-called Kosovo from uniting with Albania and passing legal acts that would enable Pristina to keep harassing the Serb community in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija.

Commenting on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's announcement that two more countries would derecognise the so-called Kosovo, Elek said this proved that Serbia had not given up on the fight for Kosovo-Metohija.
