BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday evening Serbia was interested in hosting a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and new US President Donald Trump and would be able to guarantee full security to both presidents.
In an appearance on Pink TV, Vucic said Serbia was not only formally outside of military alliances, like some other countries that were offering to host the meeting, but also essentially outside of both blocs - NATO and CSTO - and an essentially independent country that was fully prepared to guarantee full security to both Putin and Trump.
"At the same time, it is the country where President Trump had the biggest support in all of Europe. No country can compare to Serbia when it comes to the level of support for Trump," Vucic said.
"On the other hand, it is a country where President Putin is still very, very popular. So I think it is a place on the globe that would be extremely suitable to both of them," Vucic said.
