BELGRADE - In a phone call with US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Louis Bono, Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Wednesday the current Serbia-US relationship was "built on a positive agenda, characterised by an upward trajectory in political dialogue at all levels, as well as growing economic, investment and trade ties" and that this progress was "underpinned by mutual respect for the historical relations and friendship between the two nations."

"The Serbian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Serbia's firm commitment to continuing to strengthen all aspects of bilateral relations with the new US administration," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

"In this regard, he highlighted the initiative to establish a Strategic Dialogue with the US, aimed at further structuring and concretising mechanisms for institutional cooperation."

Regarding the situation of the Serb community in Kosovo-Metohija, Djuric noted the importance of "protecting their security, rights and dignity."

"He reiterated Serbia's full dedication to collaborating with international partners to create conditions for peace, stability, and equality for all communities in Kosovo-Metohija," the MFA said.

"Minister Djuric once again underscored Serbia's constructive role in maintaining regional stability and security, as well as its commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and partnerships with all relevant international actors, including the US, to achieve lasting peace and prosperity in the region," it also said.
