DOHA - Serbia has not sold a single piece of arms or ammunition to either Ukraine or Russia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday, announcing further investments in the national defence industry.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to Qatar, Vucic said Serbia had sold no arms or ammunition whatsoever to either side in the Ukraine conflict.
"We have not sold a single piece of arms, equipment or ammunition to either Russia or Ukraine. We have licenced end users, and we export only to them," Vucic said.
Commenting on accusations that Serbia was exporting arms through Turkey, Vucic said ammunition export deals with Turkey included a clause stipulating that ammunition exported to the country could not be sold on without Belgrade's consent.
Serbia is complying with international laws, but its defence industry will develop, he said, adding that the industry was employing around 20,000 people in Serbia.
He also announced that around 100 mln euros would be invested in the Serbian defence industry through Jugoimport SDPR to increase production capacities and open new production lines.
Serbia will continue to produce weapons and there will be more and more of them, he added.
