BELGRADE - At a meeting with an Atlantic Council delegation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic thanked the US for its constructive and responsible engagement in the process of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and noted that Belgrade was committed to work on implementation of agreements "up to what represents red lines for us."
Vucic said reaching a compromise and sustainable solution for Kosovo-Metohija - the objective of the dialogue - would ensure lasting peace and stability in the region, the presidential press office said in a statement.
He said further advancement in all fields of cooperation with the US was a foreign policy priority for Serbia.
He reiterated a call for establishment of strategic dialogue between the two countries, which he said would help strengthen overall political and economic relations and boost political and military cooperation.
Speaking about the region, Vucic noted that Serbia was striving to place emphasis on development of economic cooperation, as indicated by the Open Balkan initiative, which he said was already producing results for citizens and businesses.
The delegation members said they recognised the historic challenges Serbia was facing and that the US continued its pragmatic engagement towards preservation of peace and stability and strengthening of cooperation and ties in the Western Balkans, including strong support to the Open Balkan initiative.
Vucic thanked the Atlantic Council for supporting the process of EU integration of Serbia and the region, reiterating that EU membership was Serbia's strategic commitment and that the country remained committed to reforms.
