BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he had cancelled a two-day visit to Bratislava to be with his people and announced he would visit army troops deployed in important positions.
"I have cancelled my trip to Bratislava and a two-day stay in the Slovakian capital because being with my people is more important to me, and today I will be visiting our soldiers, our heroes, the several thousands of them who are deployed in the most important positions," Vucic said in a video posted on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.
He said he was confident "the truth, justice and Serbia will triumph in the end."
He noted that Monday had been an extremely difficult day for all Serbs and said he was confident "we will succeed in the fight for the freedom and survival of our people and for safety for our people also in the north of Kosovo-Metohija."
"The condition for that is so small that I cannot believe the people from the Quint and the most powerful Western countries cannot fulfil it - a withdrawal of Pristina's special police forces from the north of Kosovo-Metohija and a removal of false mayors, who do not represent anyone at all," said Vucic, who met with ambassadors of the Quint states, Russia and China earlier in the day.
He noted that Serbia would continue to advocate peace and preserve peace in its relationships with Kfor and all other parties.
