BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic on Thursday attended the signing of five contracts between the Ministry of Defence and Jugoimport-SDPR on acquisition and modernisation of 92 complex combat platforms worth a total of approx. 13.5 bln dinars for the Serbian Armed Forces.
Besides Jugoimport-SDPR, more than 20 subcontractors - including from the Defence Industry of Serbia - as well as other subcontractors capable of meeting contemporary demands in terms of quality and delivery deadlines will be involved in production under the contracts.
The national defence industry is growing and developing while being a strong and dependable partner to the Serbian Armed Forces and the national economy as a whole, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces maintain a trend of continued acquisition of modern arms and military equipment that are a result of domestic development and produced by domestic manufacturers, the statement said.
