Vucic: I do not believe there will be sanctions against Serbian citizens

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening he did not believe there would be sanctions against Serbian citizens but that any sanctions would purportedly target him personally.

Vucic said this on a Prva TV political talk show, when asked if the people should be afraid of war or sanctions.

"I think people in Serbia can be calm and peaceful - I believe we will succeed in preserving peace thanks to the strength of our state and our army. If the army was weaker, we would long have had no peace and many others would be taking actions against us," Vucic said.

"In case anyone wants to introduce any measures... ...they will introduce them purportedly against me personally, so people need not worry, they will not feel anything, be it about visas, living standards or anything else," he said.
