Vucic: We said Serbia cannot accept Kosovo independence

BRUSSELS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening after a series of meetings with European officials in Brussels that Serbia, in line with its policy, had said clearly it wanted all agreements signed in the dialogue with Pristina implemented, from a fundamental agreement from 2013 to agreements later reached in Brussels and Ohrid.

"We kept pointing out only one thing, which was always reiterated - that Serbia cannot accept UN membership for Kosovo or independence for Kosovo and, based on those positions, we said we are ready to implement all that has been agreed," Vucic told reporters.

"We said we believe the paper we received on October 21 is a good foundation for continuing to work in the future," he said.

"We reiterated reservations about UN membership for Kosovo and independence for Kosovo. We acted in a completely responsible and serious manner," Vucic said.

"We are fully prepared for the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities in line with the proposals we have received," he added.
