BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic on Wednesday opened an international scientific conference titled 80 Years Of The Term Genocide, Case Study: Genocide Against The Serbs, Jews And Roma In The Independent State Of Croatia, and said the Serbian government would continue to support the Genocide Victims' Museum.

"I want to really express support here and say that we will continue to fully support the Genocide Victims' Museum and do all it takes for the state to back difficult, serious and responsible work such as this," Brnabic said, adding that the government could offer scholarships and other forms of support to scientists, researchers and students.

She said the government had invested a substantial amount of money to start a reconstruction of the former building of a WWII-era camp at Staro Sajmiste.

"We have reconstructed and equipped the building housing a permanent museum exhibition as part of the Slobodiste memorial complex in Krusevac and launched intensive works to protect the memorial cemetery of the Kraljevo massacre victims," Brnabic said, adding that she was especially proud the Jajinci memorial complex had been placed in the care of the Genocide Victims' Museum.

She noted that Belgrade and Nis finally had streets named to commemorate the victims of the WWII-era Jasenovac death camp in the Independent State of Croatia.

"At the initiative of the president, the Government of Serbia has started funding films of national significance, such as Dara of Jasenovac, and the shooting of the film The Children of Kozara has just been completed," Brnabic said.
