Thirteen electoral lists OK'd for parliamentary polls,  several others pending approval

BELGRADE - The deadline for submitting electoral lists for the December 17 elections in Serbia expired at midnight and the national electoral commission has to date approved 13 electoral lists for parliamentary polls.

It has also ordered parties and coalitions behind several lists to remedy deficiencies representing an obstacle to them being approved.

Should the deficiencies not be remedied within 48 hours, the lists will be rejected.

Approval for the We, A Voice From The People list, led by Branimir Nestorovic, and the Russian Minority Alliance list, led by Pavle Bihali, is also pending.

The electoral lists approved to date are Aleksandar Vucic - Serbia Must Not Stop, Ivica Dacic PM of Serbia, Dr Vojislav Seselj - Serbian Radical Party, the list of a coalition formed by the Serbian Dveri Movement and the Serbian Oathkeepers Party, named National Gathering - State-building Strength, the Dr Milos Jovanovic - Hope for Serbia list, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians - For Our President, For Our Community, For The Future list, Serbia Against Violence - Miroslav Aleksic - Marinika Tepic list, the Usame Zukorlic - United for Justice - Party of Justice and Reconciliation - Bosniaks of Sandzak, Tomislav Zigmanov - Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina list, as well as the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak - Dr Sulejman Ugljanin, Together for Future and Development - Coalition for Peace and Tolerance list, the People's Party - Safe Choice, Serious People - Vuk Jeremic, Dr Sanda Raskovic Ivic, Sinisa Kovacevic, Vladimir Gajic, Marina Lipovac Tanaskovic list, the Good Morning, Serbia - Sasa Radulovic - Boris Tadic Social Democratic Party - Ana Pejic (Kidnapped Babies) list and the Saip Kamberi-led list, named The Political Struggle of Albanians Continues.

The commission must establish a collective electoral list by December 1.

The electoral commission of the City of Belgrade has approved 11 electoral lists to date, while the electoral commission of Serbia's northern Vojvodina province has approved nine lists to date.

Besides early elections for the Serbian parliament and the Vojvodina provincial assembly, local elections in 65 cities and municipalities across Serbia will also be held on December 17.
