Vucic: Major pressure, problems ahead of us - we need strong state, single policy

NOVI SAD - Major pressure and problems are ahead of us because we are keeping Kosovo-Metohija a part of Serbia - for that reason, we need a strong state and a single policy, President of Serbia and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) member Aleksandar Vucic said at an SNS electoral rally in Novi Sad.

"I am saying this with everything I know about what kind of pressure awaits us and what kinds of problems await our country because we are keeping Kosovo-Metohja a part of Serbia, because we do not want to give up on what is ours, what has belonged, belongs and will belong to this country, what belongs and will belong to our Serbia," Vucic said.

"That is just a part of what is ahead of us because there will be pressure over imposing sanctions on Russia and a lot of other pressure," he said.

"On the other hand, economic growth in Europe and globally but, above all, in Europe, is not on a high level, which means that will generate many other economic problems as well. That is why we need a strong and united state, that is why we need a single policy," he said.

"Therefore, the December 17 elections are not about whether we like someone, but about whether we can pursue a consistent, coherent, serious and responsible policy and know that we have that policy," he said.

For that reason, elections are not a joke, and no elections have ever been more important than these are, he said.

"There has never been a need for greater responsibility than there is now," Vucic noted.
