Brnabic meets with China's Yin

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met on Monday in Belgrade with Yin Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee and Secretary of the CCP's Beijing Municipal Committee.

Brnabic said visits by high-ranking Chinese officials to Serbia were very important for deepening further the cooperation between the two countries.

She noted that Serbia was facing various pressures and challenges, and especially thanked friendly China for coordinated activities in international organisations, which she said were particularly important at this time.

She said the opportunity to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping in Serbia again had been a great honour and a pleasure to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Serbia itself and noted that Xi's visit had resulted in many important agreements.

Yin said China was devoting special attention to Serbia and to boosting all forms of cooperation to the benefit of the two peoples, especially as Belgrade and Beijing had been twin cities for 44 years now.

He said Belgrade had been the first European city to twin with Beijing.

He also said China was ready to help Serbia prepare the specialised EXPO 2027.

The parties said they were proud of the exceptional bilateral relations and strategic partnership and the extremely good and intensive political dialogue at all levels.

They said the steely relationship would be strengthened further in the future in various areas such as science, innovation, biotech, artificial intelligence, agriculture and other fields.
